Craig Brewer here again. Our host, Horton Deakins, asked me if I would write something to encourage folks to go out and see that new release of True Grit. He said it was one of the best flicks he’s seen in a month of Sundays, and he especially enjoyed the filmography of his “cousin,†Roger Deakins. Now, he said the “cousin†thing in jest, but he also said that since Roger came from England, and since his own ancestors came from England a few hundred years ago, and since there are so few Deakins around, they have to be related somewhere up the tree.
